Reggie Perrin Recommissioned

According to the British Comedy Guide, and a since-deleted blog post by David Nobbs.

Excellent news, as the series showed promise, and I had fun with it - but I think they also have a fair amount to fix for the next series. In the meantime, you can read our episode-by-episode reviews here. DAVID NOBBS AND SIMON NYE HAD BETTER DO EVERY SINGLE THING I SAY OR ELSE IT WILL BE RUBBISH.

I watched a grand total of one episode of this, and it was a really odd experience. Mainly tedium broken up with the odd moment of genuione laugh out loud moments. Bizarre.

Good news about a second series, though, because it seems like the sort of show that will really benefit from an extended run to iron out some of the creases.

The Nobbs/Nye commentary on Ep 1 on the DVD says that the writing had to be done quite fast, in order to accommodate Clunes’ schedule. I do wonder whether that caused some of the problems with the series…
