The Seven Doctors?

File this one under “believe it when I see it”, not least because I consider the chances of Ecclescakes doing anything else Who-related within about a decade as pretty low. Could be good fun if it happens, though. Also fun is the bad-grammar-induced hilarity of the following paragraph :

He was followed by Peter Davidson from 1981 to 1984, whose daughter Georgia Moffett has also featured in the programme and who is now dating the current doctor, David Tennant.

I mean, they had good chemistry in Time Crash, but even so…

Davidson! Tut.

I’ll believe it when I see it too. But I WANT TO BELIEVE.

> I WANT TO BELIEVE.

Agree! As long as they leave it at the seven and don’t get any random old geezers in for the first three incarnations (Hurndall in The Five Doctors, anyone?).

“Davidson! Tut.”

DWM got it wrong on their cover the first time. Just saying.

This has about as much currency as the Patrick Stewart as Meddling Monk story. When exactly between now and Children In Need night is this supposed to be filmed given that David is working at the RSC until the end of the year when shooting on next year’s specials begins? The Music of the Sphere’s filled the usual CiN shooting slot which is precisely why there was that back stage competition for the charity instead.

Or embarrassing polystyrene heads like in 1993.

It ain’t happenin’. UNLESS they use clips. It would be so hard to get all the Doctors together. OK, they wouldn’t all need to be in the same scene, but that would the best reason to do it. Anyway, if it was gonna happen this year we would have heard about it aeons ago.

It’s almost certainly not going to be a CIN 08 thing, but maybe it’ll happen in that fabled fan-boy pleasing special we’ve heard about?

And I have no doubt in my mind that every single one of the surviving Doctor’s would kill to have a profile raising appearance in a show that’s now more popular than it’s ever been. And I really can’t see a problem in finding a week or so next year when they all have some time free between voice-overs, the odd play and ITV dramas.

I can believe it of Colin, McCoy, Davison no worries. McGann was already rumoured for a role, wasn’t he? With the show’s raised profile, it’s as good a career move as his own pilot was.

But Eccleston? And Tom ‘I’m The Only Real Doctor’ Baker? Neither needs it. And I’d dismiss it completely if the recent RTD book hadn’t convinced me that he and his team can pretty much achieve ANYTHING.

Baker T has actually been heavily linked with the show in recent months (it’s another rumour that Rich J got wind of, along with the Gaiman one) - albeit not playing the Doctor, but instead an unnamed miscellaneous role…

(but yeah, Eccleston is the one that I REALLY can’t see doing it)

I don’t think Eccleston will have anything to do with the show proper again but this is a CIN thing, a charity thing and that might possibly have some bearing on his decision. It’s also unlikely to be much more than ten minutes long so I doubt he’ll have any sort of punishing filming schedule.

I’m more sceptical about the two Bakers, mainly because no amount of makeup is going to cover for the fact that they barely look like they did when they originally played the role.

On the other hand… doesn’t he live in LA, now? Would he jet over for an unpaid ten-minute charity thing?

I’m also with the people who say that there’s simply no time for a non-live thing to have been made. It would have had to have been shot by now, and DT has been too busy doing Hamlet.

I can see them maybe getting some former Doctors onstage, in costume, at some point in the evening as a whole. But an actual mini-episode? Nah. Can’t see it.

Well, OG’s claiming that “Children In Need-themed scenes from Doctor Who and Ashes To Ashes,” will be included, although DW seems to have been removed from the link.
