Even if the character were named after the city—which we obviously know was not the case, but sake of argument here…—since when is it a crime to name a character after a town/city/state/country/continent/planet?

Actually, it’s a little known fact that Mike Mignola did indeed come up with the name for the original Hellboy comic after passing through a town in South America (I forget where) called Helboya. He saw the name, and liked it so much he had to create a comic around it.

Anyway, what a fucking ludicrous story. Have they just chosen to completely ignore the seventy years of comics, multiple TV series, six previous movies and all the other associated stuff? Apparently so. Apparently Christopher Nolan created Batman. WELL DONE.

Wait…..does that mean we can get out of the current economic crisis by suing the creators of Captain Britain?

They should shut up and build a theme park instead.

Not to mention that “batman” has been a name to refer to an officer’s dogsbody in the army for centuries.
