April, come she will.

April 3, Tom Goes to the Mayor seasons one and two, DVD release
April 6, Grindhouse theatrical release
April 13, Hot Fuzz theatrical release
April 17, The Venture Bros. season two, DVD release
April 24, Moral Orel season one, DVD release
April 27, Balls of Fury theatrical release

Looks like some month, to me. (All dates are US dates, natch.)

And even though this is classified as film, I'd be remiss if I didn't say I'm already in agony at having to wait until April 13 for Page McConnell's first post-Phish album...funny how you can go so long without there being anything you're interested in seeing, only to have it all pile up right on top of each other like that.

This reminds me of that Razorlight song, can't think of the title offhand. Anyway, another important date is April 7th, the start of Who series 3 (I know it isn't confirmed but it's highly unlikely to be any other Saturday).

You forgot to mention the inevitable release of the Somos Las Bolas DVD :)

Do you really think you can compete with Balls of Fury?

Hot Fuzz is released on Valentine's Day in the UK, so me and John have a ready-made night out.

Actually, it's out on the 16th. I'd imagine there'll be previews on the 15th in a lot of places, but unless you're lucky enough to have somewhere that does previews on the Wednesday...

While Christopher Walken's used handkerchief has more charm than I could ever hope to imagine having some day, I think the Somos Las Bolas is far superior to Balls of Fury. So take that.

Well don't go braggin' just yet because the US release of Hot Fuzz means I've got a ready-made threeway with Austin Ross and Andrew Edmark.

Hot Fuzz isn't out until the 15th in the UK. I, however, have already seen it. I also know which cinema Nick Frost and Simon Pegg will be in on Wednesday evening.

I do apologise, they seem to have moved the release date forward a day.

It *was* the 15th for a long time...

Add to the above list the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie, which was supposed to premeir next month but has been pushed back to April 13.

Oh I am not a fan of Aqua Teen by any stretch of the imagination. BUT I have reasons for wanting this film to succeed financially. Feature films would be a fantastic outlet for Adult Swim's original programs, and Aqua Teen--though not nearly the highest quality show they produce--is their most popular...and so it makes sense to use them as a sounding board.

I would very much like the film to do well because it will encourage Adult Swim to do films for other more deserving programs, and probably even get investors interested to increase the budget.

Basically this is all one selfish wish of mine that the Aqua Teen film is the first step toward a Venture Bros. motion picture...

I really, *really* wish that the Powerpuff Girls film hadn't been a flop. I thought it was utterly wonderful - and had it been a success, it could have started up a whole series of great Cartoon Network films. Instead, it pretty much shut the whole idea down, until the Aqua Teen film.

I never really used to watch the Powerpuff Girls, but I caught the film on TV once when I was in college, and I remember thinking it wasn't half bad. Was it a flop? I honestly had no idea...that said, though, I forgot all about it...which is why I go on about this being their "first" foray into film. Damn my poor research.

Yeah, it pretty much tanked, which was a real shame, as it was great fun. I'll have to watch it again sometime and figure out what it was that didn't work. Perhaps it was just a bit too grown-up for children, and didn't really appeal to adults.

I should probably mention that I do actually intend to go see the Aqua Teen film. I'm pretty open minded about comedy I don't like, because...well...I WANT to like it. You get greater joy out of enjoying something than not...so I'm perfectly willing to give its feature-length debut a shot, and contributing $8 to the More Adult Swim Movies Fund.

Balls of Fury's been pushed back--due to exceptionally poor test-audience performance, I think--but I'm still looking forward to it.

Tom Goes to the Mayor DVD review soon to come.
