A couple of interesting links for you relating to the BBC News site. Firstly, this lists and gives comparisons to all revisions made to BBC News articles. Have a look through - it's very interesting to see what was changed.
But not as interesting as this - a list of censored posts on the 'Have Your Say' comments - ie. posts that were removed from bbc.co.uk. The really weird thing about this is that a lot of those posts don't seem to break the BBC guidelines...

It's funny looking at the censored comments from the 'why is the north fatter than the south' thread. Some of them are just insults like 'shut it fat boy' but why censor something like 'BATTER, when I was in Leeds everybody has everyting battered, even ....mars bars!!!!!'. Just looking at that again, it appears people can't even have their pissing say on the 'Have Your Say' forum. Stupid idiot bee bee see. They're see you end teas.

The moderation of some of those posts is just puzzling, yes. I wonder what the criteria is?
