Spoilers below, OBVIOUSLY.

Right, just seen it. If YouTube fails for anyone else, then it's available at all good torrent sites.

Right, firstly Cathering Fucking Tate has lived up to my expecations... i.e. she has all the charisma and acting talent of a dead dog. Her voice just cuts right through my bone and into my SOUL. She's awful.

BUT, the motorway scene is just... well, it's brilliant. When I saw the TARDIS arrive like that, I laughed with joy. It does look like there's a few unfished effects shots (understandable as it's over a month away from airing) as the 'floating' TARDIS doesn't always convince. It's hard to see what they could do to fix that, though. Normally, giving it a healthy spin embues it with a good, realistic motion, but you can hardly do that in this case.

Anyway, on the whole I've come out of that feeling positive. The music was rousing, the pace is quick as hell and it look like it's going to be a great deal of fun.

Yeah, she just sounds like one of her characters, that annoying couple that just shout to each other. I'm also betting my LIFE that Russell has thrown in a 'bovvered' reference. I bet she says something and the Doctor will say 'face, bovvered'. There's no way he'll have been able to resist it, it's just too EASY because it's ingrained into the 'public' consciousness. No matter what anyone says, her being in it IS stunt casting.

As for the scene, it's pretty good. Somehow, Jonathan, I don't think the Tardis flying down the motorway is ever going to convince! Not even ILM could make it convincing. But it's a lot of fun so there's nothing wrong with it. Yeah the music IS great, similar to The Christmas Invasion, orchestra hammering away.

I have a feeling David Tennant is going to pwn as the Doctor this season much more than he did in series 2. He will be better without Billie, I'm sure of it.

New link, don't know how long it'll last.

God, that music is fantastic, though. As for the TARDIS bit... words can not express. Brilliant. Although I think it's going to have a LOT of people up in arms. Flying with the doors open? Personally, I loved it, but I can see why people wouldn't...

I've not ventured on to OG yet, but if anyone has a problem with this scene then I'm going to be mystified. I have a limited knowledge of old continuity, but I can't imagine any reason at all why the TARDIS shouldn't be able to float along the motorway with the doors open. I mean, The Doctor's pulley system shows that he's not *meant* to do it, but I see no reason why it shouldn't be possible.

If people moan about that scene, then they have no goodness in their hearts.

My problem with the scene is that Catherine Tate won't fall short of her jump and splatter all over the motorway. And the fact that he feels the need to rescue her in the first place. Unless, of course, the robot thing that's captured her is planning on cloning her.

*shudders*

As for TARDIS flying along the motorway, I have two concerns:

1. He's guiding it using a piece of string, yet is able to fly weave in and out of cars with expert precision. This is a bit hard to believe.
2. The other drivers on the road. It's like they don't even know they're meant to be pretending the TARDIS is there. Basic road safety dictates that you do not drive right next to a UFO, because (a) it could suddenly become a UNFO (Un-identified non-flying object) or (b) it could attack you or (c) you could get caught in the crossfire of someone else attacking the UFO, or the UFO attacking someone else. And yet the drivers on the road carry on regardless, like it's something that happens every day.

... or maybe they're just thinking "Shit, I'm currently driving at 70mph, there are cars all around me, I don't know what the hell's going on but if I do anything drastic I may cause a major pileup, better just keep on going in a straight line..."

Also, how in the world does "basic road safety" cover the existence of UFOs that might attack you? I must have missed that page of the Highway Code... ;-)

If it's good enough for Mr Bean, it's good enough for the Doctor.

They could slow down a bit, to get some distance between themselves and it.

Also, how in the world does "basic road safety" cover the existence of UFOs that might attack you?

Well, I imagine it would have been added after what happened last christmas.

If it's good enough for Mr Bean, it's good enough for the Doctor.

Ah, but Mr. Bean also had a broom. A broom I tell you! It makes all the difference!

I don't think it's ever been stated explicitly that the TARDIS can't fly, but if it can in the context of some episodes it's a bit confusing. The Mind Robber, for example, where the Doctor has to do an emergency dematerialisation to avoid a volcanic eruption, when he could've just floated up 20 feet ?

Erm, I think the type of black cab changes from modern to old-fashioned in the clip. I hope they iron that out since even in YouTube vision it's a glaring continuity error.

Got rid of it for you. And yeah, the site *is* diabolically slow - sorry about that. The site is changing backend systems over Christmas, which will sort that out.

Hmm... Love the premise and The Tenant makes me happy (probably helps that he's legit., though) but anyone else find the "Help me" performance a little, well, not panicked? Still, Tenant made me actually care for K9 with his "good dog", so here's hoping he can pull off the more impressive feat of making me not want tom disembowl Catherine Tate or Anne Robinson (unrelated...)
